{"id":4951,"date":"2018-12-28T22:23:05","date_gmt":"2018-12-28T22:23:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.modernclassics.com\/blog\/?p=4951"},"modified":"2026-04-07T14:29:27","modified_gmt":"2026-04-07T14:29:27","slug":"blush-and-bashful-2019-interior-design-trends","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.modernclassics.com\/blog\/blush-and-bashful-2019-interior-design-trends\/","title":{"rendered":"Blush and Bashful: 2019 Interior Design Trends"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_4961\" style=\"width: 160px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"\/store\/pc\/Womb-Chair-Saarinen-Style-p311.htm\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4961\" class=\"wp-image-4961 size-thumbnail\" src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/10300_1712731218960799_1324659243477641931_n-150x150.png\" alt=\"Our Saarinen-Inspired Womb Chair in Cayenne Red\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-4961\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Our Saarinen-Inspired Womb Chair in Cayenne Red<\/p><\/div>\n<p>2019 interior design trend forecasts seem to be all over theplace this year. \u00a0While some design professionals declare one trend as being all-the-rage, another will say its best to leave it in 2018 (yea, I&#8217;m talking about you, rose gold). \u00a0After spending a considerable amount researching 2019 interior design trends, here are my top picks I am excited to see in the upcoming months:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Blush: The New Neutral<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Tell grays and beiges to take a hike, there&#8217;s a new neutral in town. \u00a0Using varying shades of blush is a pleasantly unexpected twist on the key design principle\u00a0to set a neutral palette of a room. \u00a0Navy Blues, Sage Green or gold accents are a few of my favorite colors that really pop when paired with a blush neutral palette.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Natural Stone and Mixed Metals<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Every year its a trend to bring in an element of nature but for the past several years this has been in reference to raw edge accents and exposed hardwood construction and joinery techniques. \u00a0Its quite a welcome change then to see\u00a0<em>elements of nature<\/em> expand beyond woodworking with natural stone, think marble or quartz, in combination with mixed metals like steel and copper.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Bold Geometric Graphic Prints<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Handmade one-of-a-kind pieces are going to replace the mass-produced and, as with anything handmade, the imperfections are part of the aesthetic especially when it comes to textiles and wall prints. \u00a0Perfect repeat patterns will be used less or replaced by visual-stimulating bold geometrics and graphics.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Art Deco<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>I mean, Art Deco has always been my favorite classic style, so its a stretch to say it will be a &#8216;trend&#8217;
