This is a high quality footstool inspired by the popular Mies van der Rohe Footstool introduced and made famous at the German Pavilion of the 1929 International Exposition held in Spain.
Our Exhibition Footstool frame is constructed from premium grade solid bar stock stainless steel. All joints are fully welded, sealed, and seamless. The frame is hand-polished to a mirror-like finish. The geometry of the frame is accurate to the Mies van der Rohe original design. Four belts with buckle attach the cushion to the frame.
The cushion surfaces consist of 16 individual top-grain leather panels; each piece is cut and hand-sewn using a handrolling welting technique not found in other versions on the market. The seat cushions is filled with high resilient - high density polyurethane foam that is CAL117 flame test rated. The cushion is supported by leather straps riveted to the frame and whose top and side edges match upholstery color.
