Modern elements of form and function are demonstrated with this Arne Jacobsen design, known as the Egg Chair, formally introduced as a signature Jacobsen chair for the Royal Hotel, Copenhagen completed in 1961. Combining a modernist design concept with the 18th century traditional wing back chair design, a refreshed modern idea may be realized. The swivel base allows the user to turn towards or away from a communal lounge setting affording some privacy in lounging.

Our Egg chair inspired by Jacobsen features a molded internal shell made of a fiber-reinforced polymer, not cheap plastic. For the upholstery, we use our exclusive North America made boucle fabric, which is 100% polyester with a Greenshield stain guard. At 250k double rubs, it is considered high performance. Our foam padding is high density, high resilient foam padding with a lifetime wear expectancy. There is piping around the all the edges of the chair, a Modern Classics exclusive.
