In 1956, Kjaerholm created a low table to compliment the PK22 lounge chair. Designated as the PK61, the square table is one of Kjaerholm's most elementary designs, governed by geometry and the structural properties of the materials. The glass top table displays a similarity to the glass table designed by Mies van der Rohe in 1930 for the Tugendhat House, which shows that Kjaerholm admired their furnishings even as he worked to surpass him. In the original series, there were two marble options (black and white) which we have elected to replace with our stain resistant 20mm quartz, available in our three standard offerings: Solid White, White with Gray Veins and Black with White Veins
Our replica PK61 table is constructed with four pieces of stainless steel flat bar welded into the shape of an "L", joined with machine screws, then topped with 20mm Quartz or 19mm tempered glass. The legs extend above the horizontal bars so that they can hold the glass in place. The pinwheel structure of the base creates a square reinforces the vision effect of the square glass top. The steel is brushed finished, in keeping with the other styles in the Kjearholm Co.llection
