A classic sofa designed by Finn Juhl when he was employed by the Baker Furniture Company in the USA during the 1950s. This piece is still very popular today. We can make this all in one color material or dual color materials, for example, the seat cushion and upper seat back in one color fabric and the sofa body another fabric color, as shown in the photo.
Our version of the Baker Sofa is meticulously handcrafted of solid hardwood using fine furniture construction techniques such as full internal mortise and tenon joints on the arms, memory foam on the seat cushion, and 14 step finishing commercial grade finishing process. For the upholsery, we use our exclusive North America made boucle fabric, which is 100% polyester with a Greenshield stain guard. At 250k double rubs, it is considered high performance.
